ZYNQORALABS

Engineering is the set of decisions you can explain.

ZynqoraLabs is an engineering studio for complex software systems. This page describes how we work and what you can expect from us, instead of adjectives.

Principles

  1. P1

    Pragmatic architecture

The best architecture is the simplest one that meets the real requirements, including those two years out, and nothing more.

    In practice

    • Start with a modular monolith when it's enough
    • Record decisions and alternatives in ADRs
    • Revisit the architecture when requirements change

    What we avoid

Microservices, queues and Kubernetes adopted by fashion, before there's a problem that justifies them.

  2. P2

    Measurable outcomes

If we don't know how to measure a delivery's success, we don't understand the problem yet.

    In practice

    • Define business and technical metrics during discovery
    • Instrument the system from the first release
    • Show progress with working software

    What we avoid

Progress reports based on task percentages, with nothing running.

  3. P3

    Reliability

Every system fails somewhere. What matters is how it fails, who notices and how long it takes to recover.

    In practice

    • SLOs agreed with the business
    • Alerts on symptoms, not noise
    • Runbooks and recovery drills

    What we avoid

“Zero downtime” promises without measurement or an incident plan.

  4. P4

    Maintainability

Code is read and changed far more often than it's written, almost always by someone else.

    In practice

    • Automated tests on the behaviors that matter
    • Code review on every change
    • Documentation and a structured handover

    What we avoid

Clever solutions only their author can maintain.

  5. P5

    Technical transparency

You should know what is being built, why, and at what risk, at every stage.

    In practice

    • Repository and backlog access from day one
    • Risks raised as soon as they're found
    • Estimates with explicit uncertainty ranges

    What we avoid

Bad news held back until the delivery date.

  6. P6

    Security-conscious development

Security is a property of the architecture, not a phase at the end of the schedule.

    In practice

    • Threat modeling on sensitive flows
    • Least privilege and secret management
    • Reviewed and updated dependencies

    What we avoid

Claiming a system is “100% secure”. No serious vendor says that.

What we don't do

Where we work

We work with companies in Brazil and abroad, in Portuguese and English, with project rituals adapted to each team's time zone.
